Arrival in Siem Reap/ Departure from Siem Reap

Bike riding is favored by many people, because of its health benefits and environmental friendly effects. It is also one of the most exciting way to discover Siem Reap with one of the most amazing travel destinations in the world. Settle up and join in interesting cycling trip to the Angkor Park to have a different way of feeling and become a responsible traveller who respect the environment.

  • Day 1 - Siem Reap arrival - Rolous Temple (D) ~ 15km cycling - flat terrain, easy

    You will be greeted at the airport and transferred to the city for hotel check in and a short rest. After lunch and your relaxtion, get acquainted to your guide and start your oriented cycling tour of Siem Reap here. Ride towards the Roluos group of temples to discover this one of the most ancient sites of the region. At the begining, pay visits to the impressive Bakong Temple, dating back to 9th century. Keep following your guide to Preah Ko and Lolei (today it is a small monastery). This trip provides you adequate knowledges about the structure of the Khmer City. How great an introduction to Angkor!

    In the late afternoon, leave your bike here and transfer back to your hotel by private vehicle. Enjoy Apsara dance performance while having welcome dinner at a nice local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel. 

     

  • Day 2 - Cycling Angkor Wat - Srah Srang - Banteay Kdei - Ta Prohm (B) ~ 30-35 km cycling - flat terrain, easy

    In the morning, start your day trip by cycling to the main temples and the very famous world heritage site of Angkor Wat. Built up in the 12th century in honour of Vishnu, with incredible bas reliefs and soaring towers, Angkor Wat – one of the most amazing monuments made by mankind you’ve seen before – will sure offer you an exceptional experience. In the afternoon, continue our cycling tour to Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei, and come see giant vines and fig tree’s massive roots embracing the great Temple of Ta Prohm. Back to your hotel for a free evening and. Meals of day are on your own. Overnight at the hotel

     

  • Day 3 - Angkor Thom - Banteay Srei (B) ~ 20 km cycling, up & down roads + flat terrain, easy to moderate cycling

    This morning we ride on easy level terrain to the City of Angkor Thom. En route take your time to look at the houses along with its  architecture and enjoy the beautiful view of countryside.

    The famous Bayon will be our firts destination. Dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries, the Bayon is dedicated to Buddhism and composed of 216 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara on 54 gigantic towers. Afterwards, pay visits to the Terrace of the Elephants. With 350 meters in length, in the past, it was served as a base for the king’s grand audience hall and used as a gigantic reviewing stand in occasion of public ceremonies. Then come explore the Terrace of Leper King, dating back the 12th century, on which many beautiful Apsaras was sculptured

    After lunch, continue our trip towards Banteay Srei – a charming small pink temple. Dating back to 10th century and still known as the Citadel of Women, this temple owns a most impressive jewel of Khmer art. Some amazingly well conserved sculptured lintels are still housed here. In 1923, Andre Malraux returned the Apsara heads that he had removed before and since then they’ve become famous. Have meals on your own and spend your night at the hotel.

     

  • Day 4 - Dam Dek village - Bang Mealea - Kompong Kleang (B,L) ~ 35 km cycling - flat terrain, easy cycling

    In the morning, departure for Dam Dek village and then take a bike ride to Beng Mealea Temple. Try the feeling to the the first explorer as we go deep to the jungle towards the Bang Melea Temple, remote temples of Angkor Park, erected in the middle of the twelfth century during the reign of Suryavarman II, far from the bustling Angkor Wat. Beng Mealea particularly adapts to the meditation and reverie, inhabited by celestial dancers (Apsaras). The tree roots have gently wrapped this temple and create an astonishing symbiotic relationship between mineral and  vegetable.

    After that, departure for Kompong Khleang (40km away from Siem Reap) completely bypassed by mass tourism to enjoy lovely villages with peaceful atmosphere. Locals here only live on stilt houses, which provides you an unique natural environment and breathtaking views of rice fields, floodplains and water far away to the horizon. Meet up with lovely children and hospitable locals while wandering along the village. Then, hop on a boat and cruise along the canals towards a large lake populated by Vietnamese people. Because of the seasons, those poor but friendly people are displaced from their homes. Have a picnic lunch in a home of a villager with our nice set up, upon arriving back to the village. At the end of day, back to the mainland and transfer back to Siem Riem. Have your own dinner here. Overnight at the hotel.

     

  • Day 5 - Siem Reap Departure (B)

    Enjoy last moments here before transferring to airport for your onward flight. Room is available before noontime only. Meals on your own. Service ends.
