WHEN TO GO
Vietnam has a tropical climate varies greatly from North to South. The weather in Vietnam is dictated by two seasons - the Southwest rainy season from April to September and the northeast monsoon from October to late March or early April. To choose the best departure date for your Vietnam vacations, we break up the country into three zones - the north, the central and the south with slightly different seasons and climates between the areas.
The North:
Visit Hanoi from October to December for warm, sunny days. Northern Vietnam is dry from December to April and wet and hot from June to August. Summer averages 30C and winter (December through February) averages 16C.
The Central:
Best visited during the dry season from January to May along the coast. Hue is best in spring, from February to late May. The wet season lasts from October to February.
The South:
The best time enjoy your Vietnam vacation in Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta is between December and April. The south is typically always hot. The wet season lasts from May to October,and while it's cooler from November to April, temperatures average 30C year round.
