  • Day 1 - Vientiane arrival – Vientiane sightseeing

    Your local guide will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. From 2.00pm onward room is available. Take your time to rest for a while then begin your story of the capital city. Particularly, you will visit :

    Vat Phra Keo - erected in 1565 to commemorate the Emerald Buddha it holds. It was rebuilt exactly the same in 1942. The Buddha it shelters now stands under sloping, excellent carved wood panels.

    Pha That Louang - a cloister guarding a big stupa, luckily saved when the Siamese raided this city. The Ho plunderers demaged it in 1873, but in 1930 it was restored by the French. It is officially the iconic image of the nation, representing both Lao’s sovereignty and Buddhism. This relic is really a masterpiece of Laotian architecture.

    Patuxay - a monument built to remind the intense war against France. From its top we can see a panorama of Vientiane.

    Afterwards, take a visit to the Cope museum. Opening for tourists in 2008, this museum presents the action undertaken by Cope - an organization cooperating with the government to widen knowledges about the unexploded ordnance (known as UXOs) situation in Laos and help the invalid victims of the Indochina war. Those actions are presented in an interactive way in the Cope center. You can spend time in the projection room to watch some brilliant documentary films about UXO’s and Cope, and acces in a reproduction of a Lao house, try to make some normal footsteps with a prosthetic, and enjoy arts and sculptures with mine. It's really talent of the Cope Center museum to present a sensitive subject in an impressive way. This will offer you a very enriching experience with a deep look into an important part of Laos history.

    To wrap up the day, take a stroll along the Mekong River before sunset. Find some scrumptious local foods for you own meals.Night at the hotel.

  • Day 2 - Vientiane Orchid trek (B,L)

    The whole day will be spent for the Phou Khao Kway National Park with its superb waterfalls and wonderful scenery. This National Park is known to house over 50% of Laos wild orchid species. Through this trek you will have an exclusive chance learn more about these plants directly in their natural habitat. Our local and professional guides will always be happy to offer you more informations about the animals, plants and their identification. Have lunch with packed set. Transfer back to your hotel in the late afternoon. Have your own dinner here. Night at the hotel

     

  • Day 3 - Vientiane – Weaving center visiting – Luang Prabang (B)

    In the morning, you will visit the a vocational Training Centre – a weaving association for women with two main purposes: helping  poor, disadventaged or disable women from countryside learn various skills of weaving, dyeing and tailoring ; and to support and revive this traditional crafts. During the visit, you will experience how to tie and dye your own scarf with natural dyes and try your skills in using a traditional Lao looming to weave.

    In the afternoon, leave Vientiane behind with a flight to Luang Prabang. You will be greeted at the airport and transfer to your hotel. You’re free for the remainder of day. Luang Prabang has a colorful cuisine that you will be excited to discover it for your own meals. Overnight at the hotel.

     

  • Day 4 - Luang Prabang cycling (B,L) – total distance: 35km; terrace: easy

    Time seems not to be running in Luang Prabang. As part of the UNESCO reconstruction plan, they have built new buildings in a limited number and the marvelous of Luang Prabang is kept as its old look with reconstructed old houses and streets. Take a cycling tour on an easy-level terrain to visit it.

    The center of the town is 300 meters above see level, situated on a peninsula . There you will see ancient buildings of the Royal Palace, with temples and monasteries. Sites we’ll visit in ordinal :

    Vat May – dating back to the end of the 18th century, a capped sanctuary featuring a five sided roof topped by three parasols.

    Vat Xieng Thong (500m far from Mai temple) – contains numerous holy buildings and is the most wonderfull temple in the city

    Vat Visoun (700m far from Wat Xieng Thong) – the city’s most ancient temple with wooden windows designed under influences of the Vat Phou’s Khmer temple.

    To continue our trip outside the city surrounded by misty mountains and the smaller Nam Khan river, you can cross the this river and take a 4-km ride along the Mekong river towards paper village of Ban Xieng Lek and Ban Xang Khong. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. Dinner is free at your own choice. Overnight at the hotel.

     

  • Day 5 - Rice cultivation – Kuang Sy visiting (B,L)

    This morning, leave your hotel for the Living Land. The farmers will warmly welcome you and teach you about the 13 stages including selecting the best grains, preparing rice field, and knowledges from the planting of the rice to the harvest and processing. This activity also offers you observation of steps of making flour and, finally be happy to taste rice products. Through this trip  you will learn the amazing way the farmers work to make the needed tools. Also, explore how they work the metal to weave bamboo baskets to cook the rice or to make knives. Afterwards, take a visit to the organic vegetable garden to explore the cultivation methods and the numerous aromatic plants and vegetables planted on the farm.

    Have a 70km returning journey towards Khuang Sy waterfall via a beautiful road bordered by rice paddies and villages. Stop en route at some of the village and a countryside lunch will be served at the waterfall. Swimming is allowed in the waterfall as long as  weather permits. Transfer back to Luang Prabang at the end of day. Have your own dinner here. Overnight at the hotel.

     

  • Day 6 - Luang Prabang surrounding (B,L)

    In the morning drive southward to the 'elephants' village, where a specialist (Mahout) will wait for you to introduce you to the elephants. Then get to know about their habits, their lifestyle, and get acquainted to these amazing creatures. After that, climb up to sit on their back for your interesting adventure through the forest along the river. After an hour an a half, you will reach a second camp enjoy a pleasant lunch amongst nature.

    After a short rest, keep moving though numerous bamboo and wooden bridges, then you will observe the famous waterfalls of Tad Sae. Being formed by many basins, this will be an ideal place to swim. Afterwards, hop on a local boat for a cruise down the river to meet the elephant village again. Return to Luang Prabang by private vehicle. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

    Remark: We are working with animals and in nature, so time can be changed any when. As the number of Elephant is limited, it may be necessary for big group to be divided into 2 or 3 small groups guarded by local guides of the Camp. The program can be changed on site to be fixed with Elephant availability. We will do our very best to follow the set itinerary, however we cannot be held responsible for any possible last minute changes. In all such cases, your guide and manager of the Elephant camp will have the final word..

     

  • Day 7 - Luang Prabang - Departure (B)

    Free time at your leisure before being transferred to Luang Prabang airport for your onward flight. The room is available before noon only. Meals on your own. OUR SERVICES END HERE.
