  • Day 1 - Ho Chi Minh City Arrival

    Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City ! As you arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport, your local guide will be waiting there to pick you up. You will be tranfered to the hotel to check in. From 13.30 the room is under your service. You will be free for the rest of the day. Look for a good meals on your own, and overnight at the hotel.

     

  • Day 2 - Cu Chi Tunnels - Ho Chi Minh City (B)

    In the morning, departure for Cu Chi Tunnels by private vehicle. During the wars, over 16,000 Vietcong guerrillas use this incredible system, covering almost 250km in length, as their shelter. Initially they started to built it in 1948. In that time the tunnels were just used as shelter against the French air and ground sweeps. Throughout the American war, the network even contained supply hospitals, storage facilities, communication routes and living quarters for Vietnamese fighters. Vietcong guerrillas used to live there and they had to face such harsh conditions.  If you are interesting, descend into the tunnels and you will have a closer look to their situation. Lunch is served at a local restaurant when return to the city (your expense).
    Ho Chi Minh City, once and still known as Saigon, was the former capital of French Indochina. This afternoon we take a city tour to visit the Old Saigon post office, Notre Dame Cathedral, the War Museum – all around Saigon’s famous historic landmarks. Afterwards visit the Reunification Palace, once was the headquarters of the Saigon Government in the 60s during the American war. Finish your day with Binh Tay market of the ethnic Chinese district of Cholon. Have your own dinner. Night at the hotel.

     

  • Day 3 - Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta - Home stay (B,L,D)

    In the morning, drive about 2.5 to 3 hours towards Mekong Delta of Ben Tre (130km). Upon arrival at Phong Nam pier, hop a boat and cruise along a branch of the Mekong of Chet Say river. Along the trip you will explore how the local economy works, as we visit various local workplaces. The brick kilns for the first. Then you will see the marvelousness of coconut as it is so useful for local people’s daily life. Visit a charcoal factory to see workers put coconut shell into high heat kilns to produce coconut charcoal. Our next destination is a coconut processing workshop. Sample fresh coconut while discovering how they turn every single part of this versatile nut into food and other products.

    Afterwards, cruise through the small canals to have a clearer picture of the local life. Take a short walk at a quiet village to fall into the real Delta village life. Stop at a mat weaving house where you will see people use a hand loom to weave straw mats and you can even give a try to weave for yourself.  Board your xe loi (a kind of motorized rickshaw) or go cycling into the village. Let yourself immerse in the peace of those farms, rice fields and vegetables before having lunch at a local house. You will be filled and pleased by such delicious local specialties as elephant-ear fish and river shrimp. Have it with some cold drinks or beers.

    After lunch, board a sampan and enjoy your time while cruising along narrow canals. At about 03.30pm, keep cruising towards a local house to spend the night. Once get there and settle, you can join in cooking the dinner in the host’s cozy kitchen and even be trained to cook some traditional dishes. Have a good dinner and night there !

     

  • Day 4 - Mekong Delta (B,L)

    Rise up early in the morning and saddle up for a cycling around to enjoy fresh atmosphere at Le Jardin Du Mekong, or have a seat amongst lush trees and flowers for a lazy breakfast. At 9.00 AM, we spend 2 to 2.5 hours to drive towards Cai Lay (95km). On the way you will see fruit farms and lush rice paddies – typical landscapes of this region – emerging alongside the highway. End of the drive trip, a beautiful wooden boat will be waiting for you to cruise along and have a better view of river life and countryside landscapes. Then, disembark and take a short  bike ride of 7km in total over flat terrain along narrow village lanes to see peaceful simple life of the locals amongst cottage industries and fruit orchards (the ride can be extend to 30km if you wish to). Stop at the home of a tropical-fruit planting farmer to see the rich of the orchard by taking a walk around and don’t miss this chance to sample fresh-picked fruits. Finish this day with a slowly cruising along tropical canals on a small sampan boat. Take your time and relax, before we transfer to a resort in Cai Be for your relaxation. Have your own dinner and overnight at the hotel.

     

  • Day 5 - Cai Be - Can Tho (B)

    Only relaxation this morning. Wake up and stay relax at your room in the peaceful sound of the river or have a swim at hotel's pool.
    After lunch on your own, drive about 2 hours to Can Tho (80km). On arrival, explore the history of the region by taking a visit to Binh Thuy ancient house. The features fully-filled in the house express the true life during the 20th century of rural areas in the Mekong Delta region. Many scenes of films such as “The Bạc Liêu mandarin’s son”, “The silt ways”,  and “The lover” of French director J. Annaud,.. took place here in this house. Afterwards, leave the house behind and head to your hotel for check in. The rest of day is free at your leisure. Have good meals on your own and get back to the hotel for overnight.

     

  • Day 6 - Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh (B)

    From your hotel, transfer to Ninh Kieu Quay to board onto a traditional private local boat and head to the lively, colorful floating markets of Cai Rang. The great diversity of products sold at the market will absolutely surprise you at the moment you come. You will not possible to take your eyes off the huge variety of fruits, from the familiar ones like bananas and mangos, to the strangest ones like the sweetened longans, the very fragrant durians or mangosteens and star apples. This is your perfect chance to take beautiful photos of the real life here. After the fruity flavors of the market have served you well, access the labyrinth of the channels and streams surrounding Can Tho. From the boat it will be very suitable to observe local’s daily life on the river, even to see children swimming

    Upon arrival at Vang Xam, your bike will be ready for a ride along small roads and lanes of the local villages. Discover the diversity of fruit types in the Mekong Delta and take this chance to sample whichever you want, as we visit a lush fruit orchard having more than 50 different types of fruits: mandarin, jackfruit, pomelo, lansi, ... Continue our cycling trip passing by smithy, nursery, orchards,… to observe daily life of the locals.

    Return to your hotel around noon. Rest for a while until we transfer 4 to 4.5 hours (180km) back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. Meals on your own. Spend your night at the hotel.

     

  • Day 7 - Ho Chi Minh departure (B)

    Have a nice free morning time there, until we transfer you to the airport for your onward flight. Room is available before noon only. Enjoy your last meals there on your own, and our services end here.
