If your are an animal lover, especially with elephants, or simply feel curious about that amazing giant creature, this tour will be absolutely perfect. Visiting elephant conservation center, you will have a lifetime chance to learn about how to take care of, command and live friendly with a huge animal but having playful characters.

  
 

  • Day 1 - Luang Prabang - Xayaboury (L,D)

    In the morning, transfer on your own to Sayaboury province, located in th Southwest of Luang Prabang. It will take you 3,5 hours to get there. On arrival, meet with your guide and visit of the Center's facilities and present our projects in detail. Here you will meet our team of biologists and veterinarians and our elephants! Mahouts will share you some of their secrets and will offer you a real elephant riding, bareback, to sense the animal and feel the world from as a mohout. Try to get acquainted to every swaying steps! Then, join in a very interesting activity of elephant's daily bath and explore more about playful characters of our giant guest. You will possibly surprise that elephants swim very good and they love water.

    Dinner and overnight at the centre.

     

  • Day 2 - Xayaboury (B,L,D)

    This morning, after a discussion about safety, have fun to be a friend of the elephant's in their daily exercise : walking for an hour in the surrounding tropical forest. Just stay close to the elephant and you won't be lost. You will be taught how trees and plants collected from the jungle are used in Lao daily life. Enjoy happy time at the Yard with Phu Thongkhoon, Mae Bounnam, Mae Khamon and Mae Dok, our four inhabitant elephants. Elephants have a unique diet, and you will have a chance to feed them under professional guidance. You may also learn how to traditionally ride bareback, sitting on the neck with the assistance of guides and mahouts..

    Lunch is served at the center restaurant.

    After lunch break, you will go deep inside the forest to meet the very adorable and admirable baby elephants learning how to sustain themselves, carefully watched by its mother. Useful information about the reproduction program set up by the NGO ElefantAsia will be provided while watching their fun.

    Join with the mahouts to take the elephants back to their overnight place. It won't be so difficult for you to apply your recent knowledges to command an elephant. Then enjoy precious moment of watching beautiful sunset on a boat, floating on the lake while snacks and a fresh drink are being served. You will have some time to swim, to visit the elephant museum, or simply relax on the lake shore before dinner. Dinner and overnight at the center.

     

  • Day 3 - Xayaboury - Luang Prabang (B,L)

    After breakfast, have a guided trek through the forest to explore a hidden holy Buddha footprint. The amazing landscapes and the discovery of local customs will make your trip more exciting.

    After lunch, return to Luang Prabang on your own. Our services end here.
